Toilet Tank Lid Cracked

Broken toilet tank lids are hard to replace or even find. But the good news is, there's a good chance that you can buy a new toilet tank that will fit your toilet and these toilet tanks come with new lids. Now back to the bad news, how do you know which one of these toilet tanks to buy?

Simply remove your toilet tank, measure the distances between the three holes that are located on the toilet bowl or the bottom of the toilet tank. Then take these measurements to your local home improvement center or plumbing supply distributor and ask them for help, finding the right toilet tank.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to bring your toilet tank lid and your toilet tank with you to the plumbing supply distributor or home improvement center, just in case someone needed to measure something else.

Home Repair Tip: If the toilet tank lid isn't badly damaged, you could try using an adhesive like super glue to put it back together. The toilet lid should be handled gently after the repairs to prevent possible separation or further damage.

This is usually a temporary fix, but could solve your problem for a while until the proper home repairs can be done.
