Laminate Cabinet Door Damage

If laminate doors are maintained properly and aren't abused, they seem to last for years.

However, this isn't the case here. The door on the left looks like it was slammed hard enough into the wall to become damaged.

It looks like someone opened the laminate door and then kicked it, this caused the door to crack and over time start to delaminate.

The kitchen cabinet door isn't the only item damaged in the kitchen, if you look at the laminate countertop, you will see more damage, if you look closely at the far left front corner.

Home Repair Tip: Try to find a replacement cabinet at your local home improvement center or lumberyard. This is a standard sized cabinet and you shouldn't have a difficult time finding one with a white finish. These cabinets are also, relatively inexpensive.

Working in the home improvement business for over 30 years, I would like to say something that most people know, but rarely practice, "You Get What You Pay for."

There's no way around it, every once in awhile you find a bargain but remember, there usually few and far between.

The cabinets, sink and countertop you're looking at in the picture above, are relatively low grade and inexpensive construction products.

If these products are abused, poorly maintained or installed improperly, there is a good chance that you will be replacing them within a short period of time.

Most of the time, you really get what you pay for.
