Acoustic Ceiling Water Damage
A roof leak, caused this ceiling
damage. The water has leaked through the drywall and cause the acoustic
ceiling texture to separate, causing the ceiling damage.
The drywall should be replaced and repaired instead of just scraping the
ceiling and shooting new acoustic texture on. Water damaged drywall over
time, if not dried out thoroughly could attract mold eventually. The
mold could actually grow between the new ceiling texture and the
drywall, causing it to separate and now you're back to the original
problem.
As you can see, the acoustic ceiling texture has been
removed and the water damage drywall, has been replaced. After the
repairs have been made to the drywall, the new ceiling texture can be
applied.
Most people choose a different ceiling texture though. It seems like the
acoustic ceiling textures are a thing of the past but wait a few years,
because everything comes back in style eventually.
