Wood Ceiling Beam Repair

You can see the damage to wood ceiling beam that need to be repaired, but what you are about to witness isn't the way that you repair these types of problems.

So far so good.

This repair has just created a structural issue and safety problem for anyone who walks on top of the roof with a heavy load.

The damaged wood ceiling beam should have been completely replaced, from wall to wall. It would have been better to nail another board on each side of the damaged rafters and it would have been to repair it this way.

Whenever I see problems like these, it reminds me why I am building my websites. I wish I could have informed the person who did the repairs, before instead of after.
