Vinyl Siding Melting Damage

Vinyl siding melting in extreme temperatures is not that uncommon. Watching this video on vinyl siding damage can open your eyes to the problems with building products, not just vinyl siding. Some of these building products can be damage from hot and cold temperatures and excessive moisture.

The video mentions the siding damage from reflective windows in your neighborhood. Your neighbors windows can act like a magnifying glass on your siding. The heat reflecting off of these windows can concentrate large amounts of heat, on certain areas of your home, eventually causing the vinyl siding to warp.

Whether your home building products are guaranteed for one year or 100 years, doesn't mean that the building product will last that long. Building material companies to go out of business and suffer through class-action lawsuits. Keep this in mind, the next time you look at a building product with any guarantee on it.

Outdoor Home Tip: do not barbecue within 5 feet of the vinyl siding. The heat from the barbecue can cause damage to your home siding. You should always have your barbecue located at least 5 feet away from any building.

Make sure your barbecue is not located underneath a roof over hang, patio or porch.
