Upside Down Room Vent

Obviously this vent was installed backwards and upside down.

It's hard to imagine, I believe there are at least four ways to install this vent and the maintenance man picked one of the three wrong ways to install it.

I guess the odds were against him from the beginning.

Home Repair Tip: You could probably remove this wall vent, turn it around, turn it right side up and then install it correctly.

It's not going to be installed properly, and you could be looking at some serious water damage in the future, depending upon the location of this room vent.

Something like this isn't that hard to fix properly, and I would recommend that it should be fixed and that would require removing some of the stucco around the perimeter of the vent and then purchasing the correct vent and installing it with the proper flashing paper and then restuccoing the exterior wall.
